In your archives there are two albums both with the same name and matrix number (MFLP 1001)

Orthodox Dub - D-Roy Band
Orthodox Dub - Clive Hunt

Both are available as plain white label albums and thankfully also available as mp3 uploads.

They are different albums but by the same artist!
Track 6 on D-Roy's album is Easy Dub, this is track 1 on the Clive Hunt's version. All of the tracks have the same reckonizable groove.

As regards the backing band?

A white label pre-release recently sold on ebay and was labeled Orthadox Dub by the Revolutionaries again with the same matrix number. To my ears only a few tracks are similar to Sly's drum style so I don't think its the Revolutionaries.

So is Clive Hunt the D-Roy Band or vice versa?

I've just noticed while trying to combine them on a cd for the car that :-

D-Roy's Reggae Dub is Track 2 on Clive Hunt's album
D-Roy's Rhythm Dub is Track 3 on Clive Hunt's album
D-Roy's Banana Dub is Track 4 on Clive Hunt's album
D-Roy's Moonlight Dub is Track 5 on Clive Hunt's album
D-Roy's Dub A Love is Track 09 on Clive Hunt's album
D-Roy's Lion Dub is Track 10 on Clive Hunt's album

No wonder they sounded similar!

These previous threads may be of interest/help as they touch on both of those albums;

"D Roy Band?"

"Clive Hunt new album from Makasound"

Thanks for the extra info; I shall see if I can hunt down the musicians.

I can state the D-Roy Band Orthodox Dub and the Clive Hunt albums are the same album and have the same track listing. This was not immediate obvious since the Clive Hunt mp3 version had switched sides 1 & 2.

I still insist these are two completely different sets and I would stress that mp3-availability is NOT clearing that point at all. mp3s are often bogus material, meaning that the stuff is not always taken from the original sources.

Okay, after reading this thread, I found both the Clive Hunt and the D-Roy Band labeled mp3 sets. And, yes, they are both identical. So the question remains: Are the original LPs (as documented in Roots Archives) also identical? (Not that unusual for two separate companies to release the same set under slightly different names.) Or can someone confirm that there's a different set (coincidentally named) on vinyl that isn't as yet available as a download? Someone must know the answer to this...either someone involved with one of the releases, or someone who owns both of the vinyl sets. Please...If there is a difference, which set have I been able to access as an mp3?
Thanks!
