Vincent Clive Kirkland was born in the quite parish of Long road St. Mary, Jamaica. Mr. Kirkland was born to the parents of Mr. & Mrs. Obert Kirkland. He is the seventh (7th) of eleven (11th) children. Mr. Kirkland later removed to August Town in Kingston, Jamaica to live with his grandparents. While living there Mr. Kirkland realized that he has a God-given talent for music. He materialized his talent by singing in churches and at various concerts and communities outreach programmes. Mr. Kirkland started singing from a tender age of five (5). He was inspired to sing by watching old movies in the theatre, listening to Bob Marley, Jacob Miller, Peter Tosh, the Jamaican Fundationals singers, Jim Reeves, Marty Robbins, Charlie Pride, and many other American singers including the Great James Brown. After migrating to Fort Lauderdale in 1981, Mr. Kirkland decided to pursue his dreams in music. Mr. Kirkland started writing songs and playing different instruments including the guitars and keyboards . Mr. Kirkland realized that he was different in his thinking and the types of music he would want to sing. He was always looking at the condition of black people, especially those in Africa. Mr. Kirkland has always been getting visions and dreams, the one that he remembered foremost was when he was told in a vision "that it is not wrong for someone to fight for his/her race. Mr. Kirkland realizes that as a people we were always victimized and oppressed by other nations. These thoughts and vision would trouble his spirit very much. Mr. Kirkland realized that he has to do something for his people, even though he did not have the resources he was determined that his voice would be heard and that it would be heard through the instrument of music. In 1981 after migrating to Fort Lauderdale, Mr. Kirkland wrote his first song "I Have a Dream." In 1982 he wrote his second song entitled "Africa Unite" in that same year he wrote his third song "My Brother." By making reggae music, Soldier man Vincent Clive Kirkland is able to share his thoughts to the embitterment of the African people and to anyone willing to listen. As a Christian, he believes there are people that experience trials themselves and turn to music to find their way. Spiritual Music Soldier man Vincent Clive Kirkland now has 3 different CDs for sale, his first CD; "God Loves All People" is a Christian-based point of view, bringing the messages to the listeners that God loves all people no matter who you are.
