No grass grows where the Swiss guys start to dub. They leave their listeners behind in a satisfying state of mild confusion, with their souls grooving gently home - a sound experience that is highly addictive....

THE LOW DOWN:
The monster dub spaghetti western enters the second round: the asphalt cowboys Dub Spencer & Trance Hill release another masterpiece with "Return Of The Supercops"!

In 2006, the Swiss dub combo unleashed their debut on to the prairies of the German and European music press and caused quite a dust storm. "Nitro" got top marks from countless magazines and was voted dub album of the month by the German "reggae bible" Riddim:

Riddim: ... a new sound sphere, where typical, massively stoic dub beats contrast with hand-played instruments and experimental sounds...
ME/Sounds: ... neither a slavish copy of the big Jamaican heroes of the 70s nor lost in the much-trodden paths of electronic Nu Dub: these guys go their own way …
Jazzthetik: ...fantastically tight band, formidable dynamics and highly competent mixdowns...
Jazzthing: ...their psychedelic dub sound, which is enriched by the occasional western guitar riff and straight down rock solo, sounds wonderfully acoustic and analogue...
Loop: ... exotic sounding fusion which gets right from the first note ... a very special album.
The Wire: ... it sounds cheesy and it shouldn't work, but it does...
On their new album, "Return Of The Supercops", Dub Spencer & Trance Hill delve even deeper into the essence of dub, but at the same time manage to amp up the rock element. Psychedelic, instrumental reggae tunes are interrupted by poisonously piercing guitars, country sections are transformed into darkly limping grooves, sleepy dubby beats morph into pounding trance. And everything is driven relentlessly forward by a pumping bass line which almost hypnotically clears the path to the centre and gently caresses the stomach.
